One of the Botany Brother's biggest goals (besides selling organic and exotic varieties of plants) is recycling. Several sources online estimate that millions of the black, plastic planting containers bought at nurseries end up in landfills. We are committed not only to learning how to reseed organic plants and to grow them, but also to do those things in ways that are good for the earth. All the supplies we plant in have been recycled and most of them can be planted directly into the ground where they will degrade. Not only are we lessening the load on landfills, we hope to be giving back to the earth and our gardens with the materials we plant our seedlings in.
Just a few of our organic, heirloom seedlings growing for the seedling sale.
We want to partner with our community to provide healthy food options, learn about gardening, and reduce waste. Perhaps you want to reduce waste too. We have a way we can work together. We will gladly recycle your egg cartons and food cans.
A tomato plant growing in a recycled cherry tomato container. Ironic?
You can get these items to us three different ways.
1. If you go to our church or schools, we can pick them up there.
2. We have a box by our front door where you can always drop your egg cartons and food cans.
3. Once you have several collected, we also can pick them up. Email us at thebotanybrothers@gmail.com once you have supplies for us to pick up.
One Botany Brother taking recycling to a whole new level.
